Chapter One: The Call to Begin

Jesus’ ministry did not begin with spectacle, but with surrender. At the Jordan River, he stepped into the water alongside those seeking repentance. As he was baptized, the heavens opened, the Spirit descended, and a voice declared him beloved.

This moment marked a turning point. Jesus moved from hidden faithfulness into public obedience. Immediately afterward, he entered the wilderness, where his identity was tested before his power was revealed. Ministry began not with miracles, but with clarity of calling and trust in God’s voice.
