This is a paid honorarium for a Christian church. The right person must be experienced and be willing to provide piano/keyboard music during the scheduled Sunday worship services At times there will be other activities in support of the music ministry of the church. Having a pivotal role in the musical live of the church, this individual is a strong team player, being a full partner with the ministerial staff and the F.I.S.H. worship group.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and perform appropriate music for weekly worship services, including hymns, psalms, and special musical selections

• Lead congregational singing with the piano or pipe organ, ensuring smooth transitions and engaging participation

• Collaborate with clergy and worship team members to select suitable music that aligns with service themes and liturgical calendar

• Maintain and tune church instruments regularly to ensure optimal sound quality during performances

• Accompany choir rehearsals and special events such as weddings, funerals, and holiday celebrations

• Assist in arranging or adapting musical pieces to fit the service structure or specific occasions

• Foster a welcoming atmosphere by encouraging active participation from the congregation through lively and inspiring music

Experience

• Proven experience playing the piano and/or keyboard in a church or similar setting

• Strong knowledge of liturgical music, hymnody, and contemporary worship styles

• Ability to read sheet music fluently and adapt to various musical genres

• Familiarity with church service structures and the ability to collaborate effectively with clergy.

• Demonstrated commitment to supporting a diverse congregation through music that inspires faith and community spirit

Effective Honorarium

At weekly completion of the following:

* 2 hour Sunday worship service (to include Prelude, Postlude, and three or up to five

hymns.)

* At least one weekly rehearsal with the FISH Group as needed.

Compensation will be paid in the amount of $120 per each weeks completion.

If additional performance such as funerals, weddings, etc. pay will be negotiated at the rate of $40 per hour.
